Waitlist Fee
- $20 waitlist fee to be paid upon completion of enrolment application.
- This charge covers administration costs and is non-refundable.
- The waitlist fee is not a guarantee of a placement at the service.
Enrolment closing date
- Closing date for expression of interest applications will be the last week of Term 2 of the preceding year.
- Applications received by this closing date will be processed in accordance with the enrolment policy/priority of access.
- Applications received after the closing date will be considered late enrolments and will be processed in a first in first served basis.
Letters of offer
- Letters of offer will be emailed out following the conclusion of Term 2, during the Term 2 break. Each letter will outline the details of the position offered.
- Acceptance and program preferences must be made by the specified return date indicated in your letter.
- Where a choice of groups must be indicated, every consideration will be given to the preferences of parents but where demand exceeds supply, children will be placed in a group according to when the acceptance was received.
- Failure to return your acceptance and pay the administration fee by the due date will be taken to mean you have declined the position and will result in the next family on the list being offered this placement.
- No reminders will be issued.
Fees
- Free Kinder: We are part of the Victorian Government Best Start, Best Life initiative providing Free Kinder programs for all four-year-old and three-year-old children enrolled at our service.
- An administration fee will be charged to families, excluding those eligible for Priority of Access, upon accepting a position.
- There is a charge for families accessing the 4YO After Kinder Care program.
- There may be an additional charge required to meet the cost of special events or excursions that occur in response to emerging children’s program needs.
Four year old Kindergarten
All children must be 4 years of age by the 30th April in the year of attendance.
Children turning six in their year of kindergarten and those wishing to enter school before they reach the eligible age must request an exemption from the Department of Education (DE).
Three year old Kindergarten
All children must be 3 years of age by the 30th April in the year of attendance.
It is important to note children can only commence the three-year-old kindergarten program on or after their 3rd birthday. Funding will commence from the first day of Term 1 to reserve their position at the service.
All children enrolled in Three-year-old Kindergarten at St Paul’s will automatically be placed on the Four-year-old kindergarten waitlist for the following year.
Enrolment Criteria
St Paul’s will give priority of enrolment to:
- Children at risk of abuse or neglect, including children in Out-of-Home Care
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children
- Asylum seeker and refugee children
- Children eligible for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy
- Children with additional needs, defined as children who require additional assistance
- Second year funded children attending their first year of kindergarten at SPLK or if they have relocated to Grovedale from outside the area.
- Siblings of past pupils.
If places remain available, the Service will consider the following enrolments:
- Children not entitled to a second year of funding but who may want to attend a second year of kindergarten may be eligible if families pay the full years fees along with the cost of the government funding subsidy. Payment in FULL is payable on the due date of Term 1 fees, usually the last day of Term 4 the year prior. Self-funded positions cannot take preference over eligible funded positions.
