Enrolment

Booking charge

  • $20 booking charge to be paid upon completion of expression of interest/booking request.
  • Bookings will not be accepted before a child’s 2 nd birthday.
  • This charge covers administration costs and is non-refundable.
  • Booking charge is not a guarantee of a placement at the service.

Enrolment closing date

  • Closing date for expression of interest (EOI)/applications will be the last week of Term 2 of the preceding year.
  • Applications received by this closing date will be processed in accordance with the enrolment policy/priority of access.
  • Applications received after the closing date will be considered late enrolments and will be processed in a first in first served basis.

Letters of offer

  • Letters of offer will be sent out by the 2nd week of Term 3 with a return date of acceptance, rejection or deferral of this position.
  • Families returning their forms by the due date are assured a place in accordance with their position on the enrolment list.
  • Where a choice of groups must be indicated, every consideration will be given to the preferences of parents but where demand exceeds supply, children will be placed in a group according to their position on the enrolment list.
  • Failure to return your acceptance and pay the placement deposit by the due date will be taken to mean you have declined the position and will result in the next family on the list being offered this placement.
  • No reminders will be issued.

Placement Deposit

  • In the letter of offer, you will be informed of the need to pay the deposit upon acceptance of the place.
  • The deposit amount will be deducted from your Term 4 fees.
  • Families paying the placement deposit are assured a place in accordance with their position on the enrolment list.
  • Failure to pay the placement deposit by the due date will be taken to mean you have declined the position and will result in the next family on the list being offered this placement.
  • No reminders will be issued.

This is not intended to be a barrier to participation. Families experiencing hardship should discuss any issues with the Service Leader or Chairperson of the Committee of Management.

Four year old Kindergarten

All children must be 4 years of age by the 30th April in the year of attendance.
Children turning six in their year of kindergarten and those wishing to enter school before they reach the eligible age must request an exemption from the Department of Education and Training (DET).

Positions available are given in the following order:

  1. Second year funded children attending their first year of kindergarten at SPLK or if they have relocated to Grovedale from outside the area.
  2. Currently enrolled in the 3/4 year old kinder program.
  3. Siblings of past pupils.
  4. Lutheran Parish members.
  5. Children enrolled to attend Geelong Lutheran College (proof required).
  6. In order of EOI/application received, including second year funded children from within the Grovedale area who have previously attended another service.
  7. Second year self-funded 4/5 year olds (refer below).

If places remain available, the Committee of Management will consider the following enrolments:

  • Children not entitled to a second year of funding but who may want to attend a second year of kindergarten may be eligible if families pay the full years fees along with the cost of the government funding subsidy. Payment in FULL is payable on the due date of Term 1 fees, usually the last day of Term 4 the year prior. Self-funded positions cannot take preference over eligible funded positions.

Three year old Kindergarten

All children must be 3 years of age by the 30th April in the year of attendance.
Positions available are given in the following order:

  1. Second year attending the 3/4 kinder program.
  2. Siblings of past pupils.
  3. Lutheran Parish members.
  4. Children enrolled to attend Geelong Lutheran College (proof required).
  5. In order of EOI/application received.

In the event of more eligible children, seeking a place at the kindergarten than there are places available the Priority of Access criteria defined by the Department of Education and Training will be followed.
